This research addresses the issue of critiquing Andalusian poetry in its later stages, introducing a new avenue in literary critical methodologies. This critical study emerges from the Arab civilizational perspective to form a comprehensive critical theory. The aesthetics of the Arab literary text lie in mimicking the Arab civilizational pillars, which are based on two significant foundations:
A. The primitive life: Characterized by a lack of civilization, knowledge, and culture, and marked by wars, instability, and constant movement. B. The urban life: The life of the urban Andalusian Arab is marked by stability in his land and not leaving it. Consequently, the civilized Andalusian lived in one place in stability and tranquillity.
B. These Arab civilizational pillars reflected on the language of the Andalusian Arab, whose language was built on two pillars: communication with the Arab East and an understanding of linguistic elements (grammar and morphology). A poetic text cannot fulfil its communicative, informative, or interpretative functions, among others, without understanding the harmony of movements and accuracy in the poetic text. This understanding reveals the components of beauty and eloquence in the text, making it closer to literary quality. The harmony of grammar and morphology with rhetorical components gives the text captivating beauty and unparalleled creativity, in addition to relying on a specific critical methodology in this poetic text.
In this research, we will clarify this new critical methodology based on these two foundations and apply this methodology to two examples of Andalusian Arabic poetry.
